Our business in Latin America started with our Barbadillo Asociados Venezuela branch in June 2000. This first branch in Caracas became the starting point for operations adapted to the Latin American market. However, this clear trend has not prevented Barbadillo Asociados from exploring opportunities simultaneously in other emerging markets with significant potential. As a result of this strategy, we established in June 2002 the Shanghai branch, the first western franchise consulting company in the Chinese market and the ideal platform to introduce Barbadillo Asociados' publishing services and products in the largest worldwide market. Barbadillo Asociados started to spread to other areas in Spain in 1996. The main reason was that the Madrid head office could not fully provide services to our franchise clients who required support in local markets. Since our first branch in the Canary Islands, we have opened another nine branches, allowing us to provide consulting services and support to our clients more efficiently in markets that required a closer approach.
